HTC 10 Will Receive Android 7.0 Nougat Update In Late November Or Early December

HTC has already officially revealed that the Android 7.0 Nougat update would hit its current flagship smartphone, the 10, before the end of the year. Specifically, HTC said this would happen in the fourth quarter, which started in October and ends on December 31. While the company still isn't giving us any more details about its rollout, a well known leakster has chimed in today and thankfully brought us a less vague timeline to speak of.

According to @LlabTooFeR, who has provided reliable HTC-related information in the past, the Nougat update will hit HTC 10 devices sold in Europe either before the end of this month or in early December. So it looks like we're just a few short weeks away from this happening, unless there are any last-minute delays.

We assume that, as usual, units that have been sold unlocked will be the first to receive the new Android version, followed at some later point by those purchased from carriers. There's no telling when Nougat will make its way to HTC 10 devices sold in other territories. That said, for unlocked handsets there really shouldn't be much of a wait after the software is out in Europe. Then again, if you got yours from a carrier, all bets are off, since that company has to test and certify the update before it's released.
